Andy Steptoe moved to Canada from the UK in 1985, at the age of 23 years, after meeting his future wife (a Canadian) at the local pub. They were married in 1986 and had 2 daughters, Brittany and Madelynne, in 1988 and 1991 respectively.
Before meeting Kelli and coming to Canada, Andy studied fine carpentry at the Reading College of Technology (now the Reading Technical Academy at Reading College) and apprenticed at Elliott’s of Reading, graduating in 1982 with a City and Guilds Cabinet Making and Joinery Diploma. In addition to his Diploma, Andy also completed a year of Advanced Craft, allowing him entry into the Institute of Carpenters. After his apprenticeship was complete he moved fields into renovations, working for MC Robbins renovating Brakspear Brewery Pubs throughout South England. He eventually went out on his own, forming a partnership with Phil Morris, creating M&S Carpentry who continued to sub for MC Robbins as their carpentry experts.
